SMP Negeri 1 Kendari uses the new curriculum which is the Kurikulum Merdeka or the Independent Curriculum. The Independent Curriculum The Independent Curriculum is a curriculum with varied intracurricular learning, where the content will be more ideal so that students have ample time to further their understanding of ideas and build on their abilities. To personalize instruction to learners' interests and learning needs, teachers are allowed to choose from a variety of instructional instruments. With the Independent Curriculum, teachers have the opportunity to design high-quality lessons that are tailored to the requirements and circumstances of their learners.

On the second week of my practicum in SMP Negeri 1 Kendari, I had already started my lesson plan for my final teaching demonstration. My cooperating teacher showed and taught me their format, and she already gave me the topic that I will be teaching for my final demonstration.
My observations during the first week helped me formulate a lesson plan that is appropriate for the needs of the students. In addition to that, I also tried to incorporate game-based activities to let the students feel more excited and be more active during my teaching demonstration. Here is the actual lesson plan that I used during my final demonstration on September 25, 2023, at SMP Negeri 1 Kendari:
